Day 5: E-mail A Blog Reader

sits problogger banners badge1 Day 5: E mail A Blog Reader

For the next month I will be joining SITS (The Secret Is In The Sauce) in 31 Days To Build a Better Blog (#31DBBB) in conjunction with ProBlogger Each day is a new task to post to help me focus and make this a better blog. I love the idea of improving all of the time, so this task is right up my alley.

Day 5: E-mail a Blog Reader

Question 1: How do you reply to comments on your blog?  Do you utilize your comments section, send personal emails, or use another method?

I love my comment section.  I respond to almost all of my comments on my blog and go to the blog of the person commenting to thank them for coming to my site, while also commenting on their site.  I have never e-mailed a new reader, but it sounds like a great way to build a readership.

Question 2: How have you benefitted from making personal connections with your readers?

I have made some great relationships by going and commenting on other people’s blogs.  I would love to get more comments on my site especially during 31DBBB with advice.  It really helps to hear other people’s success stories.

  1. Hi – stopping by from SITS 31DBBB {again, I think}. I’m right there with you…I try to always reply to any comments. I have emailed a few of readers directly – mostly those who have started their own business {in this case, my niche is small, home bakeries & cake decorators}. I came up with my “must need to know” questions – the ones that I can’t seem to google or find anyone personally to ask – and asked them. The response was beyond my expectations. I’ve continued these blog friendships over time and if any more questions pop up over time, I know exactly where to go! Have a great weekend!

Stopping by from the SITS 31DBBB Challenge! Great concept for a blog – two things I love – Fashion and Organization. Sometimes my love for fashion gets in the way of being organized though, because my closet can sometimes be a black hole!

Good luck with the challenge, and I look forward to checking out your blog more :-)

    Have a great weekend!

Hi! I’m stopping by from the 31dbbb challenge as well and this is the first time on your site for me. Looks like such a fun topic to write about and I’m enjoying checking it out so far! I agree with you – I really try to engage with every comment I have as much as possible – even going to their sites and reading a bit, finding an opportunity to say thanks, replying to the comment within the thread – but haven’t emailed yet! Seems like it’s a stretch, going outside the blog world, but that’s the point I guess, so I’ll be trying it from now on occasionally. Take care and have fun with the challenge!
