Getting Excited About BlogHer

I have wanted to go to the BlogHer conference since I saw posts about BlogHer ’09.  Of course this year has been financially challenging to put it lightly.  I didn’t buy a ticket and was just devastated when they were sold out.  Then a friend of mine got a sponsorship and offered me her ticket.  R and I discussed it and the ticket to BlogHer wasn’t the problem, the ticket to New York was.  My wonderful father gave me every last frequent flyer mile he had to pay for my entire plane ticket (see my post for the Energizer Giveaway).  Although I want so desperately to stay at the Hilton I knew that it wasn’t financially possible.  My mother’s closest dearest oldest friend lives in Manhattan and has always had her home open to my family.  I contacted her and of course she said I could stay with her.

I’m going, I’m going, I’m going.  The excitement has been building for the last 5 weeks since I found out I was actually going.  Now it is 16 days until I leave, not that I was counting.  I have been planning everything down to the wire.  I mean every outfit, every item I need to take with me to the conference.

I have been RSVPing to private parties, and just having a blast figuring it all out.  Sometimes planning can be just as much fun as the trip.

Not only is this a conference for bloggers for me, but it’s a real chance to take my passion to the next level.  It feels nice to think of a weekend with lots of intelligent women.

The next few weeks I plan to post about my preparations for BlogHer ’10.  I hope you guys will indulge me.  I can’t wait to meet some long time blogging friends and hang out with the ones I already know and most importantly meet new bloggers.
