So rarely these days can you watch TV the way people did when they wached I Love Lucy.  I watched reruns of I Love Lucy ever since I can remember.  I was obsessed.  It was simple feel good TV.  No plot lines just fun.

Tonight I am watching last night’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance (“SYTYCD”) followed by the result episode from tonight.  I am loving the show this seasom.  I’ve watched every season since it started and these dancers blow me away.

Every minute it is on I am smiling ear to ear.

Right when you think one routine is amazing and it can’t get better the next routine is as good or even better.  It’s simple fun in a way that TV should be these days.   Don’t get me wrong I am a big watcher of complicated make you think TV, and I love it.  I just haven’t seen such amazing talent.

Let me tell you all of the emotions I exhibited watching last night’s routine.  I cried, like major sobbing crying, from the beauty of a routine.  It was about a son’s emotion in trying to care for his sick mother.  I had to rewind and watch this episode again.  In the result show they showed a snippet, a small taste, and I LOST it again.

For the first time ever on the show they had a  beat boy routine.  It made me continue to say out loud NO WAY over and over and over again.  It made me jump out my seat.  I sat on the edge of my couch and then immediately after it ended, I called R to tell him how amazing it was.  He told me to save it for him to watch when he got home (I <3 my husband).  I rewound and watched this one again too.

A beautiful couple do a fantastic jazzy routine that is based on having happy feet when you dance.  It was so fun I actually laughed during the routine. I rewound and watched this one as well.  It just made me giddy.  Seeing the highlights from this routine made me stop crying over the above mentioned snippet.

If you don’t watch SYTYCD, you should be.  Thank you to Season 7, you guys are fantastic.  Alex and Ashley will be missed but I hope their wounds heal soon.

One more thing: go out and get Christina Perri‘s music.  She is unbelievably talented, and her music will move you.

  1. Thanks for being “fashionably late” with my to 31DBBB, and I’m glad you left a comment on my blog.
I absolutely LOVE So You Think You Can Dance. I’ve been watching it since the beginning as well, and I can’t get enough! This season I change my favorite dancer every week…I think I like someone the most and then someone else blows me away. Thanks for sharing my guilty pleasure :)

  2. *sigh* I can’t speak from experience regarding the dance show…but I LOVE “I Love Lucy.” I wish they made more shows like it.

  3. I love so you think you can dane. Watching it as I read this. It is hard to find good tv. I’ve been watching SYTYCD since it started and this year I’m hoping my husband will take me to see the tour.
