I made a tank top with embroidered Chihuahuas for my very oldest and dearest friend.
I have to say that I never thought I’d write a sentence that actually contained the words: embroidered Chihuahuas, but here I am.
Michelle and I have been friends for 20 years, and we’ve shared a lot together. She is the sister I never had. For her birthday I decided to finally make her the embroidered Chihuahua tank I’ve been meaning to do for the last…well forever.
I think it came out rather well.
2 of Michelle’s furry children are: Penelope “Peanut” and Bruno. They are 2 Chihuahua’s with quite the personalities. When I found Sublime Stitching‘s pattern pack called Chi Chi Fever, I knew I had to buy it for her, because I could make her a shirt to represent her babies.
Girl dog “Peanut” stitches: hair – stem stitch; ear definition lines – back stitch; balls on necklace – satin stitch; “P” on necklace – back stitch; eyes and mouth- back stitch; and nose – satin stitch
Boy dog “Bruno” stitches: hair – stem stitch (the floss is 2 different colors I mixed together); ear definition lines – back stitch; sweater – split stitch; B on sweater – back stitch; eyes and mouth- back stitch; and nose – satin stitch
Letters – back stitch; hearts – back stitch
This project was a true labor of love, which is why I think it came out so well.
