#uncorked Ladies Day Out

It’s not often I get the opportunity to spend a whole day with 4 fantastic women relaxing. The fact that California Wine Club was kind enough to host our day of fun was a true gift.

Beth of HipMamaB, Kadi of Our Seven Seeds, Kim of House of Prince and our wine expert Romy of Romy Raves and I were put on the task to taste wines from 3 wineries, and report back to our readers what a great time we had.

This trip allowed us to see some of the great wines California Wine Club has to offer, which would make a fantastic Father’s Day gift.

We gave away great prizes that day on Twitter, and learned so much from some people I will remember forever. We had a great tour guide Jon Boring known as Boring Wine Guy from California Wine Club. He made a fantastic choice to make our first stop at Gainey Vineyards in Santa Ynez. We were honored to have Dan Gainey President of the Vineyards as our tour guide, and our wine tasting instructor. His love for the ranch, the wine and sharing it made him a true pleasure to meet. He probably doesn’t feel the same about me, because I asked A LOT of questions. I was that person we can’t stand. I knew it it and yet couldn’t stop it.

I loved Gainey so much that I think I’m taking R there for their Father’s Day event.

We segway to the majestic vineyards at Fess Parker Wines. Yes I did get a [faux] coon skin cap for my wine bottles. I am not ashamed to say it.

However arriving at Dierberg Estate Winery was truly a site. We got there and gasped. It is a gorgeous place with hills all around it. The views were breathtaking and the wine was equally as good. The feeling of serenity that you got being there is not described well in words. Trust me when I say it is the kind of place you want to go when you need a day to yourself.

Off to dinner we went and arrive at Avant Tapas & Wine, where it quickly became the happiest place on earth. Amazing food and wine vending machines. You put a card in and you can buy a taste or a glass of wine straight from the spigot. On top of that we were given the magnificent tour of the facilities. Oh and did I mention we drank wine straight from the barrel?

The whole day flew by, and the next day was difficult because the day much anticipated #uncorked trip was over. It was one of those special days with your friends you’ll never forget.

Here’s a little bit of the fun and what we learned while we were there.
